Hey there, I’m Laura Belieu

Photographer, Designer, and Marketing Strategist

Sixteen years and counting as a professional photographer in Des Moines, and still loving it! What is my specialty? I specialize in helping people show the world who they are, what they do, and how much they love it through authentic visuals & smart design. Basically, I’m an artist and a tech geek rolled into one, turning creativity into something both stunning and strategic.

My Background

I started Life Art Photography in 2009, photographing weddings in Des Moines. Over time, I found myself drawn to event photography, brand photography, and design, so I slowly phased out weddings and rebranded as LB Creative.Studio to better reflect the work I love doing now.

Weddings taught me how to think on my feet, adjusting to different lighting, locations, and personalities, and that adaptability has carried over into everything I do. Now, I focus on capturing events, branding, and the people behind businesses in a way that feels natural and true to who they are. I also design websites, marketing materials, and templates to help small businesses create a strong, cohesive presence.

I’ve always been a lifelong learner. While I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business and formal training in photography and design, it’s the ongoing education (both structured and self-taught) that keeps me inspired and evolving. I love diving into new techniques, exploring design trends, and finding better ways to help businesses tell their stories visually.

I’m based in Des Moines and love working with people who are passionate about what they do.

Benefits Of Using A Single Artist

When photography, branding, and web design come from the same creative source, everything works together naturally. Instead of trying to fit separate pieces together, you get a consistent vision, smoother communication, and a final product that feels intentional and cohesive.

One of the biggest challenges when working with separate photographers and designers is that photos aren’t always taken with design in mind. Images might not fit the spaces they’re meant for or are cropped in ways that make them difficult to use, like making background removal tricky or limiting how they can be incorporated into different layouts. When working on design projects with images from other photographers, I often find that some of the best shots just don’t work because they can’t be adapted without using the entire image. Without a shared vision, these details can get overlooked, making the design process harder than it needs to be.

When photography and design are approached together, every element is created with the bigger picture in mind so everything works, looks great, and fits exactly where it’s needed.

Did I mention that I looooooove being an Event Photographer?

Why don’t I just show you instead?
